Lesson Overview
“The Leader of the XXI Century” is an extracurricular English-language intellectual game designed to strengthen students’ communication skills and broaden their worldview through engaging, competitive tasks.
Aim
- Develop learning, speaking, and reading skills in English.
Objectives
- Expand students’ outlook and deepen interest in the subject.
- Foster respect for the native language and develop confident self-expression.
- Build motivation to learn English as a global language.
- Consolidate knowledge of topics related to Kazakhstan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
- Reveal and support gifted, intellectually curious students; increase activity and overall achievement.
- Develop professional competence through speaking, thinking, writing, and reading in English.
- Provide aesthetic education through foreign-language learning.

Competition Structure
The “XXI Century Leader” competition is held across six stages. In each round, the participant with the lowest score leaves the game.
Stage 1
Өзін таныстыру / Presentation
Participants introduce themselves in two languages. The highest score is 5 points.
Stage 2
“Бәйге”
A fast-paced knowledge round focused on accuracy and speed.
Stage 3
“Полиглот”
A multilingual challenge that rewards broad vocabulary and quick thinking.
Stage 4
“Сиқырлы жетілік”
A “magic seven” round built around logic, focus, and recall.
Stage 5
“Жорға”
A performance-style round where confidence and clarity matter.
Stage 6
“Кім жылдам?”
A final sprint round—quick answers, quick points.

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to our English game, “The Leader of the XXI Century.” We are glad to see you and hope you will enjoy the competition.
We are pleased to introduce the participants of our intellectual show. And now, let us introduce our jury:

Қайырлы күн, құрметті қонақтар! Бүгін “ХХІ ғасыр көшбасшысы” атты сайысымызда сіздерді көргенімізге қуаныштымыз. Бүгінгі ойыннан жақсы әсер алуларыңызға тілектеспіз.
Сайысымызды әділ бағалайтын әділқазылар алқасымен таныс болыңыздар. Сайысқа 6 оқушы қатысады. Олар:
